in the sbb web page i did not see any info about using less than the 800/1000 tier etc what would happen. the example scenarios in the sbb page dont mention that. Why the hate?

Someone on Mastodon made a G Sheet for existing Half Fare Plus customers to find out which Half Fare Plus is worthwhile. I donât use a Half Fare, but it might be of interest for some.
If youâre using HalbTaxPlus from SBB you might want to check which offer is best for you. You just need to feed it with some past Halb Tax Plus purchase data and it will give you a projection on how much would you save should you have the same spending habits.

So they optimized the whole renewal process.
You can buy a new package online even when you still have credit of an old one left. The credit of the old one gets used up first.
You still need to wait until the next day for the new package to be usable though
