My account opening a few weeks ago was completed within ~24 hours and I can see VT and also open the buy dialog (haven’t confirmed though by actually buying VT shares).
That was the case couple if months ago.
Can give you an answer for today‘s situation, since I do not have a Saxo account.
Hi,
I’m new to investing and I want your opinion on the two scenario i’m hesitating with.
I pan to invest via Saxo (Looked into IBKR, i prefer something swiss).
I plan to invest around 150CHF per month for a start.
1st option :
- Auto invest : 80% iShares MSCI ACWI USD Acc UCITS ETF (Ter 0.20) + 20% iShares Core MSCI Europe UCITS ETF (Ter 0.12)
- The good thing is there is not buy fees even if the ter is not the best
2nd option :
- Invest the regular way : 80% Invesco FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (Ter 0.15) + 20% Vanguard FTSE Developed Europe UCITS ETF (Ter 0.10)
- Around 6.5 CHF in fees each month
- Maybe switch the Invesco for the Amundi Prime All Country World (Acc) UCITS ETF which is 0,07 in TER but i would have 0,25 fees in currency conversion
What do you think is the best choice ?
I know i can just not invest in two ETF to lower the fees, thinking about it and juste put 100% in the World ETF
Thanks for your insight
I was able to buy VT previously and sell it this month on Saxo without any special requirements.
I agree auto invest has limited options. Following are some comments
Auto invest
iShares SSAC seems to be best in that case. For smaller amounts, I wouldn’t worry too much about TER% because you would have savings in trading fees.
For example if you buy 150 CHF per month, you will save 36 CHF (min fee is 3 CHF per transaction) annual investment fees using auto invest. While for a portfolio of 5000 CHF, TER 0.20% means only 10 CHF impact.

When looking at normal investing on Saxo , following combo could be interesting but only recommended for larger investments.
Multiple ETF strategy
if you don’t want to have foreign exchange costs but want to play with regional allocations . All are trading in CHF on SIX
WRDUSY + XMME
Single ETF strategy
If you are looking for one ETF only then SPDR ACWI (TER 0.12%) is cheapest and also trades in CHF on SIX.
Point to note
But remember forex fees (0.50% , buy + sell) of WEBG (TER 0.07%) would be compensated versus SPDR ACWI if you hold the ETF for 10 years.
There is also a middle way of buying shares of only one ETF each month, but alternating between two (or more) ETFs, depending on how the current investments deviate from your strategy. Not quite as simple as always buying the same ETF(s) but a nice benefit is that you tend to buy an ETF when it’s cheaper, relative to your other investments (once you have invested for a while).
Edit: My rule of thumb is that transaction fees should not exceed 0.5% (that’s assuming no custody fees). For CHF 150 a month, commission-free AutoInvest makes most sense. An alternative may be to only invest every 3 months or so (but even then the commissions would be relatively high).
If there are no fixed fees, Auto Invest into one global ETF is the way to go.
Thanks everyone for your insight. I’ll go with auto invest
Sorry if the question has already been asked. Does Saxo provide a regular yearly fiscal report like “A regular swiss bank”?
If you open the account via Ref Link from influencer “FinanzFabio”, then you get the yearly e-tax statement for free. Otherwise you get the e-tax statement for a fee. (They have some kind of cooperation, no idea what Finanzfabio receives in return)
Does anyone have experience with Exclusive events and hospitality ?
I don’t mind marketing events if (and only if) I get to meet interesting people and learn interesting new information.
Thank you!
Does anyone have experience of moving positions from IBKR to Saxo?
I find it a bit complex process because the online form on SAXO always end up in a failure when I try to move positions from IB UK to Saxo. Then i need to fill an excel file which is kind of annoying
I figured that if I choose “other” broker & just type the data myself, then the request goes through. Maybe that’s the best option to process such transfers

Anyone know where I can disable push notifications on iOS for stuff like quarter results for Tesla or Google? I don’t want all of them disabled completely, just for stuff I don’t even own (directly, I do via ETFs).
