Problem with neighbor :)

Hey so I’m going derail discussion and ask advice on how me, the bad neighbour, would go about putting shoe racks outside my entry.

My current strategy was going to be something like what your neighbour did, but obviously that has not worked.

Asking the PPE for permission is likely going to be no because it is a hazard legally right? Asking my floor neighbour for permission might get me awkward vague response that he can go backwards on in the future…

Check the link I posted a while ago on this thread. You might use with them.

Lol, unfortunately I think in the same way. That’s the problem when you are not informed and you don’t see the immediate effect of your actions.

You see, the problem with that is that the farmhouse dog will chew on those shoes left outside …

I think in @Cappuccino’s situation it’s time to start thinking about the use of tactical nukes. Start gently, you know.

Today we got another angry email on that topic ^^. Maybe you can tell the Management company to send the same ahah :stuck_out_tongue:

Dear owners

Living together in an apartment building requires certain guidelines and mutual consideration. For this reason, there are binding regulations.

In view of fire regulations and the requirements of the regulations, it is prohibited to store flammable and other objects in the stairwell. If the fire authorities inspect the property, you can expect a fine. We therefore ask you to remove all objects such as strollers, boxes and other personal items by October 11, 2024. Otherwise, they will be removed by the building maintenance department at your expense.

If you have rented out your apartment, we ask you to pass this message on to your tenants.

We thank you for your cooperation and future compliance with the regulations.

If you have any questions, we are always happy to help.

Hey bratwurst is so mild anyway. Imagine if you had me grilling sheep chops, pork neck and fish :stuck_out_tongue:

Polanski, bastard that he is, was right about flats/living with other people, it’s total hell (reference to Repulsion, The Tenant, Rosemary’s Baby).

Oh wow, I think I watched that movie like 20 years ago.
Thanks for the grammar correction

This might be a good point to capture attention as people as long as money are involved, this triggers attention.
But, who’s in charge of the inspection and how much would be the amount?

Thank you
Cap

I would like to thank everyone has contributed with his point of view in whatever shape and form

At the very end, it is a matter of how we do perceive the world around us.
Living in a condominium, situation like that might happen, sooner or later. Someone is too peaky, others might not care at all (at least, till the money are not touched).

I most likely belong to the first category. And when I meet my opposite, of course there is a clash.

I talked to him recently. But it seems we have a very opposite view on that. For him, keeping shoes outside is completely normal, and the shoerack was a way to keep the shoes in order and avoid to make the floor dirty during rainy days. This is the angle is coming from.
To my objection that the shoes are NOT supposed to be there, he does not want to take that point, and to my remarks about rules, he was surprised about the lack of flexibility and arguing which kind of problem the shoes outside can create to someone or to the authorities…

It is evident, that my tentative to have a dialog in that sense, has completely failed.
My only chance, is to request the Verwaltung to enforce the rules and wait for the events.

Good that you talked. Now you know what’s the position of other party.

well, that was clear to me since quite a long
But Verwaltung suggested to talk with him again (hoping to get this away from their desk).
So I did.

I will simply ask them to enforce the application of the rules. I feel sorry for my neighbour btw: he’s not a bad person, but we simply have two different point of view which do not concile. The only difference, is the fact I’m not the one breaking the rules here (maybe somthing else, but not the rules  )

A book tip

Human beings are 90 percent chimp and 10 percent bee. We are selfish hypocrites so skilled at putting on a show of virtue that we fool even ourselves.

Tell them to do their job and sort it out. It’s not your job to talk to the neighbour and resolve this. It is their job.
