Present and Future of Bitcoin [2026]

since I’m often asked why I am rich -I put it this way just for fun- by my beloved tax officers, and my holdings are quite oldies, I did my homework… but this is a bit sketchy to have a ledger of your transactions in an excel file, when you think of what the blockchain is supposed to be (what you’re trying to achieve) …

At the moment, they’ve never asked about this part, not even what it is (it’s filled in an “other” random category which happens to include crypto, among other things like my socks or my dishes, and they have no idea). I put the exact amount of my holdings in CHF every year.

Since BTC will be at 1M or 2 in a few months I expect a few questions next year, thus the homework.

I really never was asked about that. Even my BTC stack was last few years always over 90% of my networth. Probably with my stack I’m still far smaller than some whales here in Ticino.
Anyway, I’ll deal with it, when time comes.
It would be a pitty to have to disclose my “clean” addresses to some tax officers. Will label them then as “intaxicated” lol.

I think I read somewhere that some Swiss public servants are actually very skilled and trained to track transactions on the blockchain - and ask the right questions, ask for the right info.

I am also thinking of closing accounts at some unused exchange I don’t like and for the sake of minimalism, that’s also why I extracted the history.

I really hope so. It’ll be much easier. Again, I have nothing to hide. I’ll just have to rebuild my clean addresses afterward.

You’ve said it one time too many. Framed. :joy:

Bah, they did the usual inflating of prices before the sale so that we think we get a good deal when we buy. :stuck_out_tongue:

You made me think of the conversation with my 5 year old daughter yesterday. The people at the daycare told her that someone had broken in to try to steal money but left when they found none. She asked “If they don’t have money, can they go and buy some?”

I am more curious to see how MSTR plays out. The stock is down 62% from ATH. Since they buy Bitcoin using loans and share dilution, I wonder how they can raise more money

Probably will blow up big time and then the narrative will shift to “still early”, “few understand”, “good for bitcoin” etc until the next shill cycle.

Sorry, couldn’t resist, I find Saylor Moon very distasteful. Guy can’t smile, never a good sign.

why’s everybody panicking about BTC? isn’t it just slightly down from insane ATHs?

I missed those bloody red days (or weeks or months or years)

I observe that I rebalance between BTC and CHF (aka BTFD) more often when bitcoin crashes… and far less when CHF drops. I should do more cubanepate mechanical stuff . But probably too dumb for that.

There is another reason for this:

MSCI is currently considering whether MSTR should be classified as a fund. If yes, MSTR will be removed from the MSCI World Index, which will result in a significant outflow of capital for MSTR.
