if you work for big swiss bank, how come you are allowed to use IB as a broker?

I’m not their employee. I only signed the confidentiality agreement, but I don’t even have an account at that bank. And I cannot profit from any special conditions that employees get.

You know, once I had to implement a functionality for a start-up at 5 different banks and I had logins to all of them at the same time. That would be hilarious if each of these banks required me to open an account with them :P.

For convenience, but the only obligation is that they have access to your trading activity so that you don’t do any insider trading. The easiest way is to force you to trade with them, that way they can look themselves instead of making you hand in your account statements from some other broker.
