Well technically their reply is 100% correct: CH20 8909… IBAN is an account in UK, not in Switzerland. Account 10569674 at Citibank London. It just goes through swiss bank clearing systems with that CH IBAN.
Yeah, I guess so, but still not doing anything to solve the customer’s problem.
Do you know/think we can also send USD on this same account?
No, payment would be rejected or converted at unfavorable rate
Interactive Brokers confirmed via email:
It is correct that new bank routing details for currency CHF have been implemented. The CH-IBAN can be used already to transfer funds. IB will show the new bank routing details once our new Account Management will be released.
Good news
Thank you Alex. It seems that transfering USD to IB from a Swiss account cannot be done at no cost. For CHF, it works. Anyway, I had to do a single transfer of USD to IB and will not have to do it again hopefully. From now on, only transfer of CHF.
Wouldn’t be bad to extract the IB transfer info to an individual topic.
@1000000CHF thanks for the mention. I thought about it too
Until end of August, I focus on finishing the French translation of the blog. I will treat it afterwards.
did anyone attempt to transfer non-CHF funds?
when i want to wire EUR,
i am referredto some german IBAN. any experiences?^^
Yes I’ve done it a couple of times.
It goes through sepa -> should be quite cheap.
I’ve paid 2 eur through Swissquote and 0.3 eur through Migros Bank.
SEPA is free at postfinance
I can confirm now the € 100 arrived with no losses
yey
Is it these 2 CHF per transfer from Postfinance that we are talking about saving?
Does the total fee of 2 CHF apply independent of the transferred amount?
Not only, also 6-10 CHF extra that get unceremoniously stolen along the way. And that’s even rather mild - some other banks I’ve seen are as greedy as 25 CHF for a transfer to UK
