Health / physical activity tracking / smart watches

What metrics do you intend to measure and what will you do with the data once you have it?

There are mainly three things were I find my smartwatch useful:

  • tracking my sleep
  • setting timers
  • tracking my runs (heart rate, speed, etc.)

I don’t really have a use for the data in the long-term, more in the short-term to adjust/optimize my training accordingly. However, from time to time I look at runs I did a few months ago and it cheers me up to see my progress.

Mostly basic steps, hearth rate and sleep data.

Same here, mainly using it while doing sport.
But it is something interesting to see the data, i.e. an afternoon/night out too many drinks. You see that sleep quality sucks stress levels go to the roof.

Then I would just get an Apple Watch if you also have an iPhone. No subscription, just a one-time expense of 230.–, that also offers additional benefits.

True, but I would have known that without a smartwatch as well, as I would have woken up feeling like shit
