Finpension (2nd/3rd pillar investing)

Would you post this without source, if you had no ChatGPT? Probably not, everyone would ask where you got the numbers from. So where is the source of these numbers?

Generative AI is not yet a good source for difficult to find facts (e.g. currency conversion cost).

As an easy workaround, you can ask AI to provide their sources. Then you can check them yourself. Only then you should post generated information.

The VIAC management fee is capped at 0.40% p.a. (it’s lower if you keep > 25% in cash). Some funds have fees but e.g. the UBS World ex CH fund is a 0% TER fund and traded in CHF. The total fees are practically the same at VIAC and finpension, at least for a typical global investment strategy with the UBS world fund. And 99% can be invested in stocks.

Ok my bad for these results. I wrote my source was chatGPT, I have never say it was the truth and that’s why I posted with the conditionnal “seems”.

Again, it seems, there is a wider variety of funds on FP than on Viac, specifically with lower TER like iShares. (I checked on my VIAC app for comparison).

@Helix here is the source

ChatGPT hallucinates all the time, if you’re not going to check the output, then it is best not to post it at all. Why is this? Because otherwise you risk contributing to mis-information and, ironically, OpenAI will likely scrape this ChatGPT generated output and feed it back into training and so reinforce any mistakes it made.

I think it is good that you labeled it as ChatGPT. But that is not enough. You must check generated information before you post it.

It is different from someone that just makes their own mistakes. Correcting those mistakes costs a lot of time, but the corrected person learns something about the way they gather information. It also takes quite a bit of their time to write down their own thoughts.

Compare with copy pasting from ChatGPT. It cost next to nothing to generate this, while it still costs knowledgeable participants a lot of time to correct it. Especially, because maybe there is no actual information about this out there. If they manage to correct it, you learn nothing more than the information you wanted to gain, since ChatGPT won’t learn from its mistakes.

It is unpleasant to be used as a ChatGPT fact-checker. Please don’t do it here or elsewhere.

PS: I don’t know what precisely you wanted to source, but your source is not the 3a product.

I am personally not a fan of Bitcoin in 3a, but it may be interesting for some:

Since this week Bitcoin is also possible in Finpension 3a (Source).
