# Direct Real estate funds (outside CH)

Hi guys

Do you know of any (exchange listed) direct residential real estate funds outside of switzerland?

For CH, I hold the UBS direct residential. To build my real estate international allocation, I was looking for a similar product in the US and Europe.

I understand in the US there are REITs, but thats not really what I am looking for, because  
a) they are already part of the listed equity in VT  
b) not very diversified,  
c) not “direct” real estate.

For Europe I think there are such kind of products, but to be honest I couldnt find a “good” one.

Would you have same tax benefits as Swiss Direct RE funds?  
Since RE is mostly always taxed where it’s located , it might get into foreign tax regime . Isn’t it?

Yes there are not the same tax benefits as in CH.  
The thing is, if you have indirect holdings, there are 2 levels of taxation. Thats why i do not like the structure of REIT ETFs

I remember seeing some funds from credit suisse which were investing abroad but I think UBS is closing down some. So not sure if they still exist
