Buying from Amazon: What the cheapest way?

Stamps are given only >50€

Usually wait with the order until I have several items in an Amazon order ready…

How much stuff do you buy yearly, guys (and gals)?

I don’t buy enough stuff other than groceries to think about this.

Yeah I did this when I just moved in and needed a lot of stuff like appliances etc that I just couldn’t buy here or get Amazon to ship here.

But:

  • They come with the “fat” euro plugs that don’t fit in the CH sockets: you either need a converter (Ikea has the cheapest ones I could find Koppla or you need to cut the plug off and replace it with a Swiss one from one of the DIY stores)
  • Going to Germany from where I am costs 20.- return by train and eats up about half a Saturday (which I’d much rather spend doing anything else)

To each their own, but if Amazon doesn’t ship it here then I’m assuming they don’t want my money and so I’ll find alternatives/buy from a CH retailer/do without/buy used. It’s just not worth my time and the savings aren’t all that significant if I have to go pick it up in DE.

Yes, make sense. I do usually the 1x weekly groceries shopping in Germany and combine this with the pick-up.
