Best ETF on European indices?

Like said before, to see all ETFs on JustETF, select “professional” investor type. This also removes a filter by the exchange - by default only your “home exchange” is enabled. But as most European ETFs have primary listing at Xetra, I choose German domicile. Nevertheless, I noticed that some very specific funds are still visible only with a specific domicile, e.g. some bond ETFs in CHF visible only with CH domicile. So it is worth to play around if you don’t find something.

German ETFs come with something like 23% withholding tax, reclaimable in DE and CH. Not worth in my opinion.

Stoxx and MSCI indices are constructed in a different way. Stoxx defines a region, e.g. (developed) Europe, and take 600 biggest stocks from it. Standard MSCI indices take 85% of market capitalization of each included country. The results should differ, though it probably not a big deal.

Stoxx also has a subindex with all Eurozone stocks included in Europe 600. I think it is called Stoxx Euro. There were some ETFs on it, but recently I haven’t seen them anymore.

That’s also on the website, right here at the bottom:

Depending on the filter you have selected, the ETF Finder will display all the relevant ETFs with marketing authorisation in your specified country of origin and for your type of investor (private or institutional investor).

But I don’t see a “Private vs. Professional” filter on the page. Can you give me a hint as to where it should be, or post a screenshot? The only Filter I see: Promotion ETFs, Savings Plan ETFs, Substainability, Age, Use Of Profit, Fund Size, Replication Method, Provider, Index Family, Fund Domicile, Currency Hedge, ETFs and ETCs, ETF Listing and ETF Universe

Duly noted. But even apart from the huge overlap in the composition, I have no indication that would favor one over the other, performance-wise and hence don’t play favorites.

Haven’t noticed the Stoxx sub-index.
From the broader indices, there’s good options for example Stoxx 600 for 0.07% or a smaller GBS Solactive (never had one of those) for 0.05%.
Bigger lever would be CH due to taxes, where I’ve come across MSCI EMU and FTSE Eurozone. Vanguard has an established accumulating one, which very recently got a distributing little sibling at 0.07% TER.

Combined with the rest, that’d result in 0.08% - 0.1% TER, depending on the combination and whether Nordics are included. So same as my starting point.
( I understand tracking error matters, not TER, but at first glance they all do fine - hence the questions whether someone already dug deeper or more structured)

It’s not a filter in the same sense / same level as ones you mentioned. It is an investor type and domicile, which, in JustETF logic, kind of a level above.

I like a lot SPPW

That’s the whole developed world. OP only wants europe.
